What I do

 

As a freelance writer/journalist and communications consultant, I'm only as good as my last job.

 

Clients come back to me, time after time, because I am responsive, flexible and very cost effective.

In my consultancy, I have:

  • Developed and implemented a range of varied communications strategies.
  • Written materials across all channels including print, audio/video, online and social media.
  • Written and managed production of award-winning annual reports and corporate videos.
  • Managed production of materials via suppliers such as designers, photographers, printers and production houses.
  • Conducted professional and mutually supportive relationships with all manner of media.
  • Developed and managed events ranging from highly charged AGMs to national product launch road shows, industry roundtables, conferences, gala dinners and awards nights.
  • Developed and maintained excellent working relationships with stakeholders in government and business.
  • Supported colleagues and clients such as boards and senior management groups, sales teams, spokespersons and industry ambassadors with counsel and targeted, high quality materials.

I also have more than 10 years' corporate experience in a variety of senior roles including Senior Writer (creative and production) at Mark Overett Productions, as a Corporate Affairs Specialist (consumer marketing, media and events) at AUSTEL, as Telstra Technologies' Public Relations Manager (sales support, customer communications and new product launches) and at The Woolmark Company as Corporate Communications Manager (managing a group of global staff in, primarily, a media and stakeholder relations capacity.)

My experience on 'both sides of the table' means that, as a consultant, I understand the importance of strategic, professional communications to achieve corporate or program objectives.

Cath has worked on the Premier’s Sustainability Awards for consecutive years. Her commitment, innovation and ability to deliver on time is faultless, whilst her media knowledge and expertise working within the Government realm has been a real asset to the program.
